Kristin Fischer will join CNN as CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In this role, Fisher will cover everything including NASA's new Space Force to commercial space companies and space tourism. Kristin was born into the space sector as the daughter and granddaughter of NASA astronauts. Over the last five years, she's covered space policies under Trump and Biden Administrations in FOX News. The reporter also reported on the 2020 presidential campaign as well as the efforts of two administrations in fighting the coronavirus. She traveled extensively with both the President and Vice-President included an official trip to Afghanistan, which she took with Donald Trump. Kristin was a fixture in the regional news market of Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, as well as Washington, D.C. for more than a decade prior to joining the network. She was awarded one Emmy Award in Washington, D.C. as the CBS affiliate's one-man band reporter. Kristin's camera skills led her to found Field Mouse Films which specialized in making documentaries for clients of corporate nature, including Uber Hotels & Resorts, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin received her Bachelors in Science in journalism from Boston University. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and their three year old daughter.
